Arleneth Louise (Sugnet) Juneau, 87, passed away on August 11, 2013 at Brittany Manor. A lifelong resident of Midland, Arleneth was born on May 22, 1926 to Roy and Anita Sugnet. While in High School, Arleneth worked at Michigan Bell Telephone Company as one of the first co-op students and was also a candy striper at Midland Hospital. After graduating she was a supervisor and teacher at Michigan Bell Telephone Company until she married John (Rick) Juneau on Sept. 13, 1947 and moved to Iron Mountain, Michigan. She and Rick moved back to Midland in 1950 where they resided for the rest of their marriage. Arleneth was involved in many meaningful jobs throughout her life, each giving her satisfaction and joy in different ways. She worked as a Nurses aide at the Kings Daughter’s Home and after going back to school to get her LPN degree, she then worked for Visiting Nurses for 8 years. She managed, cooked and baked at Regina High School where she was known for her cinnamon rolls. She worked at Meijers in the deli where she made a number of close friends and also was a crossing guard for Midland Public Schools for 10 years. During her life she had many outside interests. She was president of the Madonna and Carroll Club and a charter member of Blessed Sacrament Church. She was a proud member of the Daughters of Isabella for 50 years, the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Midland Genealogy Society. She enjoyed time spent with her husband at Knights of Columbus conventions at Mackinaw Island and especially had fond memories of she and Ricks attendance at the Juneau family reunion in France in 1991. Arleneth is survived by her son John Juneau; two grandsons, Jason (Barbara) Juneau and Jared (Julie) Juneau and four great grandchildren. Her husband Rick and daughter Margo predeceased her. A Funeral Service will be held at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013 at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly, with Father Kevin Maksym officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013 from 4:00 pm until the time of the service.
