Bernard “Bernie” Latoski, 80, died November 5, 2013 at Sterling House of Midland. Bernard was born on May 24, 1933, in Midland to Peter and Nellie (June) Latoski. On September 22, 1956, Bernard was married to Helen Voorhees who predeceased him on September 29, 2009. Bernard was a faithful caregiver to his wife prior to her death. He was an avid Tigers and hockey fan; and he enjoyed visiting with his friends around Midland especially at Big Boy Restaurant. Bernard was in the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict. Bernard is survived by his son Brian Latoski, sisters; Grace (Robert) Austin, Mary Myers, and Martha Roy, his brothers; Ivan (Lorna) Latoski and Fred (Shirley) Latoski. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Nancy Latoski, Maymie Voorhees,Bonnie Voorhees; brother in law, Tom (Alyne) McCann and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at Smith-Miner Funeral Home on Fri., Nov. 8th, at 11am with Deacon Aloysius Oliver officiating. The family will receive friends on Thurs., Nov. 7th, from 4 until 7 pm and on Fri., Nov. 8th, from 10 am until the time of service.
