BETTY MAY ROGERS Betty May Rogers, 91, of Midland passed away on June 27, 2015 at Brookdale Senior Living Center. Betty was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on May 22, 1924 to the late L.D. and Doris (Sutherland) Sperry. On December 29, 1945 she married Jack A. Rogers who predeceased her in 2009.Betty graduated from Portage H.S. and received a teaching certificate from Western Michigan University and a BS and MA from Central Michigan University. She taught both elementary and high school in Bullock Creek Schools for 23 years. Betty was a member of WMU Chapter of Alpha Beta Epsilon, Lifetime member of Michigan Audobon, member of Midland Nature Club, Wildlife Recovery, and King?ÇÖs Daughters of Midland. Betty is survived by 3 sons, Jack (Kathy), Joe (barb) and Jeff (Sherry) Rogers. She had 4 grandchildren, Jeremy (Kara), Matt (Kim), Joanna (James) and Brianne and 3 great-grandsons. Betty is also survived by one brother, Roy (Maggie) Sperry, and sisters in law Carol Vandenburg and Dorothy Rogers and special friend Tad Hupfer.Betty is predeceased by her brothers, Carl, Charles, Bob and Bill and her Sister, June.A Celebration of Life will take place at the Poseyville Cemetery at 3pm on Monday, July 6, 2015.A special thanks to the staff of Clare Bridge and MidMichigan Hospice for their excellent care and love for Betty during her last weeks.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Wildlife Recovery or the Chippewa Nature Center.Online condolences can be given at smithminer.com.
