Bruce Byler, 58, of Freeland, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on November 5, 2018. He was born on February 24, 1960 to Allen and Eunice (Hartman) Byler. He married Rhoda Kindy on August 6, 1983 and they had 35 wonderful years together.
Bruce knew how to live and love people. He owned Artistic Finishes, a furniture restoration business. He enjoyed nature, the woods, and spending time in his hut. He also enjoyed music, church and attending gospel camp meetings. More than anything, he valued being with God and family.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Rhoda, children, Amanda Byler, Judith (Joel) Cook, Kendra (Merle) Swartzentruber, Kathryn Byler, David Byler, Caleb Byler and grandchildren, Kaelyn, Janessa and Austin Cook. He is also survived by his mother Eunice Byler and siblings, Will (Darlene) Byler, James (Darla) Byler, Lois (Keith) Repman, Rachel (Gary) Stoppard and Rebecca (Wendel) Hostetler.
Bruce was predeceased by his father, Allen Byler.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, November 9, 2018, at Smith-Miner Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Lang officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Smith-Miner Funeral Home from 4-7 pm and at the funeral home on Friday from 9 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at the Poseyville Cemetery.
