Carol Elaine Sting, 78, of Midland, died at MidMichigan Stratford Village on Nov. 23, 2010. Carol was born in Detroit on Aug. 15, 1932 to the late Iva Elizabeth (Roughley) and Carl MacMillen Routt. After she graduated from Caro High School she married her sweetheart, the late, Donald William Sting. She and Donald had a long and happy life together, being married for 42 years. Carol worked for several businesses in the local area, which included among others, Scott Realty, Mid-Land Executive 1 Realtors and Bennett Hall. She was the past President of the American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA) and she was a member of the Midland Board of Realtors. Carol is survived by her husband Lloyd A. Nevins; daughters, Cindy (Garry) Pugh of Midland, Dr. Catherine (Chuck) Baase of Saginaw; sons, Michael (JoAnn) Sting of Kentwood and Greg (Judi) Sting of Linwood; grandchildren, Charlie Baase, Andrea Cook, Heather French, Jamie McFarland, Dr. Jennifer Nash, Elizabeth Pilling, Joshua Rosalez, Allyn Rosalez, Jacob Rosalez, James Rutledge, Jonathan Rutledge, Kathleen Rutledge, Jessica Sting, Taylor Sting, Chris Sullivan; 15 great grandchildren, and lots of friends. A Funeral Service will be held at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly, on Friday, Nov. 26 at 5:00 pm with Pastor Paul Murphrey officiating . The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Friday, from 2:00 pm until the time of the service.
