Chris A. Weber, 92, of Sanford, passed away on May 25, 2018 peacefully at the Brookdale Care Facility in Midland. He was born in Montague, Michigan on December 6, 1925 to the late Christian and Caroline â€œLenaâ€ (Grau) Weber. He married Ella May Sudderman in September 1956 who predeceased him on February 24, 2017. Chris worked for Dow Chemical Company as a mechanical and chemical engineer for 38 years. He did research and development for automotive safety, including dashboard plastics. Chris enjoyed working on automobiles. He participated in the development of Dow Pulse ABS/Polycarbonate blend. He was also on the Jerome Township zoning board for many years. Chris was in the Korean War serving the U. S. Army. Chris is survived by his children: Karl (Amy) Weber, Marianne (Kevin) Beechler, grandchildren: Airin (Michelle), Autumn (Joshua), Andrew, Eric, Joyce (Shane) and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his bothers; Fred (Rosie) and Walter Weber. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 11:00 at the Smith-Miner Funeral Home with Pastor Neil Wiggins officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at Midland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hope Baptist Church, 552 N. Hope Road, Hope MI, 48628. Military honors will take place under the auspice of the U.S. Army and the Midland County Veterans.
