Welcome to Smith Miner

Clarence Corkins, 93, of Sanford, passed away at home surrounded by family on January 5, 2021. He was born in Vassar, Michigan on July 17, 1927 to the late Frank and Annie (Wilber) Corkins. He married Pearl Sage on June 7, 1947 and they were blessed to share 73 wonderful years together.


Clarence worked for GM retiring in 1991. He was a member of Jayco Horizon Camper Club.


Clarence is survived by his wife, Pearl, children, Albert Corkins, Sandra (John) Fejedelem, grandchildren; Adam (Annie) Corkins, Aaron Corkins, Annie Corkins, Jessica Corkins, Jamie Corkins, John Jr., (Marie) Fejedelem, David (Keriann) Fejedelem and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Elizabeth Pomeroy, Phoebe Zamora and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his baby son, Clarence Jr., and siblings, Ralph Corkins, Carl Corkins, Clare Corkins, Viola Pray, Mildred Kenny and Frank (Olga) Corkins.


A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Smith-Miner Funeral Home from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Midland Senior Service or donor’s favorite charity.
