Clarence Jr. Lince, 89, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at his home. Clarence was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 18, 1925 to the late Clarence A. and Louise (Bravot) Lince. Clarence married Mary Rose Solosky on May 21, 1949 at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Midland. Mary predeceased him on November 17, 2013. Clarence worked for Dow Chemical Company as a master tradesman for 38 1/2 years retiring in 1982. He was a Charter Member of Blessed Sacrament Church. Clarence enjoyed signing. He was a life member of Men of Music and sang in both the Blessed Sacrament and St. Brigid Choirs. Clarence volunteered for MidMichigan Community Action Agency. Clarence also enjoyed trailering and camping for 30 years and belonged to 3 trailer clubs. Clarence is survived by his children, Michael (Julie) of Traverse City, Thomas (Vicki) of Boyne City, Mary Louise (Jerome) Andrus of Auburn, and Susan (Jack) Neill of Alanson, MI. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson and his sisters Doris Woodcock and Josephine Draves. Clarence was predeceased by his sister Bernice Molkenthin of Connecticut and daughter-in-law Sue Ellen Lince.A funeral liturgy will be held at 11am on Friday, August 22, 2014 at St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church with Father Kevin Maksym officiating. Visitation will be at Smith-Miner Funeral Home on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 4-7 pm, with a vigil at 6:30pm and on Friday, at the church, from 10am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Old Calvary Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be given to Men of Music.On-line Condolences can be given at smithminer.com
