Curtis “Curt” Waasdorp 76, formerly of Curtisville, passed away on, Friday, April 25, 2014 at his home. He was born on April 8, 1938 in New York to John and Dolly (Deihm) Waasdorp. He married Margaret Southworth on May 30, 1981. Curt was a self employed Master Electrician and worked for several prominent companies. He was a member of the Curtisville Baptist Church. Curt was a member of the Glennie Sportsman Club and loved trap and skeet shooting. We will be greatly missed by his dog Tara.Curt is survived by his children; Gary Waasdorp, Brett (Marisa) Waasdorp, Stacia Buckwell and Natalie Boise, his step children; Blaine (Laurie) Kahley, Bryan McCloy, Susan (Joel) McCloy, Lisa (Rick) Haines, and Sandra (Don) Dickinson. Curt is also survived by his mother Dolly (Deihm) Waasdorp, his sister Anne (Bruce) Bristol, brothers; Don (Mary Lou), Ed (Denise), and Bruce (Vicki) Waasdorp, his beloved dog Tara and many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.Curt was predeceased by his wife Margaret and his father John Waasdorp. A Funeral Service will be held at Smith-Miner Funeral Home on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Skip Metzler of the Curtisville Baptist Church officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 9 AM until the time of service. Burial will take place at the Curtisville Township Cemetery.In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Curtisville Baptist Church or the Alcona County Humane Society.
