David L. Love, 59, of Midland and previously of Saginaw, died unexpectedly at home on Nov. 2, 2010. David was born on May 29, 1951. On April 25, 1970 he married his High School sweetheart Susan Keller in Saginaw. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this year. David retired in 2001 from his position as the Water Superintendent for the City of Saginaw. David currently was employed by the City of Midland as the Superintendent of Water Filtration and Distribution. He enjoyed loving and cherishing his family and he was happiest spending time with his grandchildren anywhere but especially at the cottage he and Susan built on Little Twin Lake. He also enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. David was a member of American Water Works Association. David will be dearly missed by his loving family; his wife and love of his life, Susan; daughter, Sara (Adam) LaFrance of Traverse City; grandchildren, Rowan, Olivia, David; mother, Lillian Miner of Saginaw; brother John (Sue Flannigan) Love of Saginaw; sister, Susan Love of Milwaukee, WI; nephew John Love and niece Katie Love. David was predeceased by his infant son Benjamin. A Funeral Service will be held at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly, on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 11:00 am . The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Fri., Nov. 5 from 4 until 7 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 until the time of the service.
