David Lawrence Phillips, 84, of Midland Township, died November 18, 2020. The son of the late Zachary and Minda (Herren) Phillips was born on January 13, 1936 in Silver Point, Tenn. He retired from The Dow Chemical Company after 38 years of service and was in the military service. He was a member of the Midland Church of Christ and enjoyed leading music for them. David enjoyed hunting, gardening, woodworking, whittling and camping.
David is survived by his wife, Joan (Wolgast) whom he married on February 25, 1961. Other survivors are his children Derek (Jinge), Kent (Shanna) and Teresa (Michael) Eagle; grandchildren, Madison (Alec) Wimmer, McKinley Phillips, Eaton Eagle, Garrett Eagle, Dylan Phillips and a step grandson, Zachary (Breanna) Barack; sisters, Faye Beard, Irene Dinkel; brother Donald (Sheila) Phillips and sisters-in-law Barbara Phillips and Pamela Wolgast.
He was predeceased by sisters Linnie Webb, Eva Lafever, Evelyn Martin, Mae Hancock and Tilda Hatcher, brothers Wendell, Charles, Clarence, Carson and Kenneth Phillips, sisters-in-law; Lois Phillips, Virginia Phillips, Helen Phillips and Carol Worden, brothers-in-law, Norman Webb, Warren Lafever, Loren Dinkel, Jim Beard, Oval Martin, Clyde Hancock, Cecil Hatcher, James Wolgast and Gary Worden.

A private family graveside service will be held on November 20, 2020.
