Delores Kay Larson (81) passed away May 1, 2021 at Stratford Pines Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Midland, MI. Dee was born August 2, 1939 to the late Harold (Hap) and Lee Ella Jean (Jean) Hunt in Saginaw, MI. She married Neils Frederick Larson on September 19, 1959. Dee and Neils enjoyed 62 years together until his passing on January 2, 2021.

Delores graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1957. She worked for Michigan Bell and various food establishments throughout the years in addition to King Communications, Romanow Building Services, Town & Country Nursing Home and the Train Station.   In 1975 they moved to Wixom Lake where she also ran the Snack Shack for a few summers. Once their children were grown and out on their own, they moved to Sanford, MI and enjoyed many winters in McAllen, TX. Dee was an amazing cook, avid crafter, loved to watch hummingbirds and buy whimsical garden décor. She also enjoyed golf, card games, coloring and puzzles.

Survivors include her children: Scott Larson of Beaverton MI, Shelly Larson and Brett (Debra) Larson of Midland, MI. Grandchildren: Nicole (Garrett Wright), Melissa Nickell, Samantha Nickell, Tiffany (Phil) Tubb, Megan (Justin) Hickerson and Ty Larson. Great grandchildren: Kennedy and Noah Wright, Natalie, Lauren and Michael Tubb and Harper Hickerson. She is also survived by brothers Kevin (Karen) Hunt, Kent (Joan) Hunt, sisters-in-law Jan Hunt, Carolynn Hunt, Shirley Hunt, brother-in-law Gerald Larson and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to Neils, Dee was predeceased by her sisters-in-law Gailya Hunt, Marlene Hunt, Judy Larson and brothers Larry “Butch”, Rodney “Buck” and Jerry “Big Jer” Hunt.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life for Dee and Neils will be held at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the DAV or Alzheimer’s Association.
