Donald P. Kisser, 84, of Hope, died on October 21, 2013 at Tendercare in Midland. Donald was born on August 12, 1929, in Larkin Township to Edward and Aurelia (Reichard) Kisser. Donald married Lois Dingman on September 11, 1954 who predeceased him on October 22, 2006. Donald then married his wife Marilyn Avery on February 9, 2008. Donald was a founding member of the Hope Fire Department and volunteered at Senior Services helping with the Meals on Wheels Program. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing and a good campfire. He liked family time and playing games. Donald also loved mowing his lawn, as long as it was the right direction. Donald was a member of the Hope Baptist Church. Donald was survived by his wife Marilyn, children; Kris (Kim) Kisser, Paul (Angie) Kisser, Sharon (Mike) Evans, David McCallahan, Carolyn Taibl, Nancy (Bruce) Nyland, Bobby McCallahan, Bonita (Rick) Foust, Sandra Sipe, Mary Beth (Darrell) Frizzell and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Sharon Babcock and Ann Friedle. Donald was pre-deceased by one daughter Anna Lee Kisser-Hayes. A funeral service will be held at Hope Baptist Church on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Neil Wiggins officiating. Visitation will be held at Smith-Miner Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 4-7pm and on Thursday, at 10 am at Hope Baptist until the time of service. Burial will take place at New Hope Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hope Township Fire Department.
