Donna Mae Sweebe, 72, of Midland, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at MidMichigan Medical Center. She was born in Midland, MI on April 11, 1944 to the late Leonard and Edna (Bensch) Thomas. On June 26, 1965 she married Ned O. Sweebe at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Midland.Donna worked as an office professional for Dow Chemical Company for 35 years retiring in 2008. She was a member of St. Paul?ÇÖs Lutheran Church where she volunteered and was involved in the Ladies Aid and Altar Guild. She had a joy for life and always remembered to appreciate the small things. Donna was an eternal optimist and could find the light in complete darkness and that spirit never faltered. Her greatest joy in life was her family and she loved to care for others.Donna is survived by her husband, Ned, daughters, Raelyn Sweebe and Amanda Stryker, and granddaughter Kayla Mae Stryker. She is also survived by her siblings, David Thomas, Pam (Pat) Kastl and brother-in-law Ted Sweebe.A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at St. Paul?ÇÖs Lutheran with Pastor S.B. Reith officiating. Friends may visit with the family at Smith-Miner Funeral Home on Friday, August 19th from 4-7 pm and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
