Dorothy A. Horden, 77, of Midland died on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland. Dorothy was born on May 21, 1935 in Lee Township to the late Charles and Margaret (Clark) Swift. She grew up in the Midland area and has lived here her entire life. Dorothy was a bus driver for the Bullock Creek School District for 25 years until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of the Harrison Moose Lodge Auxiliary, Saint Brigid’s Catholic Church and Saint Felicitas Guild. She enjoyed bowling, camping, jamborees, dancing and visiting family and friends. She had a great personality and was loved and will be missed by her family and friends. Dorothy is survived by her sister, Connie Chisholm; sisters-in-law, Barbara and Leona; and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Charles (Hunk) Horden and her two bothers, Ted and Dale Swift. A Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012 at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly, with Deacon Frank Hudson officiating. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Homer Township Cemetery.
