Dorothy I. Joynt, 103, passed away on October 23, 2015 at MidMichigan Stratford Village. She was born on March 3, 1912 in Hope to the late Jasper and Lela (Hoover) Michael. Dorothy married Thomas C. Joynt in Hope, Michigan who predeceased her in 1997Dorothy was a retired practical nurse, working at Midland Hospital and Dr. Carl Linsemann?ÇÖs office. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge #378 and the Midland Ladies Auxiliary of the Patriot Militants Branch 55 where she was inducted on 12/12/47 and served as a past Nobel Grand in 1958. Dorothy was an avid card and bingo player. She was also a member of the Midland Cantons. Dorothy is survived by her son, James (Nancy) Joynt, grandchildren, Joseph Joynt and Deborah Joynt, and great grandson, Theodore James (TJ) Joynt. She is also survived by her brother, Jasper ?Ç£Junior?Ç¥ of South Bend, Indiana. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and special friend Vicky. Dorothy is predeceased by her sister Lera Beebe, brothers; Gerald (Dorothy) Michael, Albert (Wilma) Michael and Calvin (Betty) Michael.A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Smith-Miner Funeral Home with the Rev. Lisa Cook of Sanford United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of service.
