Earl Clarey, 99, of Midland, passed away on April 3, 2018 at Medilodge of Midland. He was born on August 9, 1918 to the late Edwin and Louise (Simmons) Clarey. On August 17, 1940 he married Geraldine M. Streeter who preceded him. He and his wife wintered in Zephyr Hills for many years.

Earl served his country honorably in the United States Army during WWII as a Tech Sargeant. He worked for Dow Chemical Company as a Plant Superintendent in the Ethocel and Methacel Plant, retiring in 1979. Earl was a charter member of Calvary Baptist and filled the role as treasurer, trustee or deacon there for many years. He enjoyed playing golf, softball, baseball, bowling, and was a golden gloves boxer in his youth. He was a huge Tigers fan. Earl loved to go tent camping in the Upper Peninsula with his family.

Earl is survived by his children; Michael (Ann) Clarey, James (Connie) Clarey, Daniel (Judy) Clarey, Carol (Ricky) Burger, 12 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter. He is also survived by his brother Donald (Sharon) Clarey.

Earl was predeceased by his siblings, Harlan Clarey and Beryl Rytlewski.

A Funeral Service will be held at Smith-Miner Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 11:00 am with Pastor Pat Clarey officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at Midland Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will take place under the auspices of United States Army and Midland County Veterans.
