EDNA B. STANFORDEdna B. (Oliver) Stanford, 85, of Midland went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 10, 2014. She was born April 6, 1929 in Larkin Township to the late James and Elsie (Siebert) Oliver.Edna graduated from Midland High in 1947. During and after high school she worked at Dow and then married the love of her life, Dale Stanford, on July 2, 1949 at St. John’s Lutheran Church (he predeceased her in 1989). Their marriage and family life was one of hard work, love and laughter. They owned two businesses together and enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and visiting with family and friends. They were blessed with three beautiful children. Duane (Gwen) Stanford of Midland, Pamela Stanford and Debra Owens. Along with her children she adored her grandchildren Jeremy (Brandie) Stanford, Jennifer (Julius) Walker, Joshua (Kristi) Stanford, Jared (Rachel) Stanford, Melissa (Ryan) Kehr, Aaron (Liz) Stanford and all of her great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Alma and brother Dwight “Pete” and her son-in-law Charlie Owens. Edna was predeceased by her daughters Pamela and Debra, her brothers, Robert “Painter”, Alfred “Fritz”, Clarence “Bali” and Norman. We as a family were truly blessed to have this beautiful, loving woman in our lives who was always there with a hug, kiss and her unconditional love. She will be forever missed but always remembered for her faith and love.A celebration of Edna’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 11:00 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 505 E. Carpenter St, Midland, MI with Rev. Kurt Eichinger of the Lord of New Life Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will take place at the Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly Road, Midland, MI on Monday June 16, 2014 from 2:30- 7:00 pm and on Tuesday at the church from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Midland Cemetery.Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Lord of New Life Lutheran Church.
