(January 24, 1929 – March 20, 2017)

Edna Miller, age 88 of Midland went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 20th following a brief illness. Family and friends surrounded her at MidMichigan Medical Center and ushered her into the Lords presence with singing. She was born on January 24th, 1929, in Bay Port Michigan to Henry and Emma Shetler. Seven months after her birth her mother passed away. Henry was then married to Leona Shrock and together they lovingly raised Edna and her siblings. Edna moved to Midland and faithfully served many families in the community with her gift of hospitality. She met Willis Miller and they were married on November 21st, 1954. They had two children Sandra Wright and Bryan. Throughout her life Edna always put Christ first, others second and herself third. She was a friend to everyone she met and always had a smile on her face. She loved to serve at church and use her gifts of sewing, quilting, crocheting, and gardening, to bless others. Family, friends, and neighbors were always the recipients of her handiwork and fresh garden produce. She is survived by her loving husband Willis of 62 years, daughter Sandy (Wright) of Midland and son Bryan (Becky) of Boyne City; six grandchildren, Jessica, Stephanie and Austin Wright; Amanda, Lauren and Tiffany Miller; a sister Louise (Harold) Swartzendruber of Bay Port; two brothers, Leslie (Francis) Shetler of Goshen Indiana and Lee (Wilma) Shetler of Pigeon; as well as many nieces and nephews. Edna was proceeded in death by her parents Henry, Emma and Leona; sisters Pauline Mix, Elizabeth (Bill) Barge, and brother Stanley (Elaine) Shetler. A Funeral Service will be held at Eagle Ridge Church on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 11AM with Reverend Bill Greiner officiating. Visitation will be at Smith-Miner Funeral Home on Thursday, March 23rd, from 4PM to 7PM and the church on Friday from 10AM until the time of service. Burial will take place at Poseyville Cemetery.
