Edward J. Foy, 84, of Midland died May 24, 2015 at Mid-Michigan Regional Medical Center. Edward was born on August 18, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, and was the oldest son of the late Leo and Margaret (Finneran) Foy. He graduated from Henry Ford Trade School and served twenty years in the United Sates Air Force. During his time in the Air Force he was a master loader on the Berlin Airlift. He also served overseas in Germany, Okinawa and England where he met and married his wife Ann of 50 Years.Edward had various careers after retirement from the United States Air Force and was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary parish and the Knights of Columbus Council #2141. He also volunteered at Mid-Michigan Regional Medical Center.Edward is survived by his wife Ann, son Stephen and wife Lisa, daughter Maria and husband Dennis Gistinger, and grandchildren Bryan, Morgan, DJ, Paige, Alexis, Nicholas and Tyler. He is also survived by his brother Michael Foy. Edward was predeceased by his bothers, Gerald, Leo and Patrick Foy.A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Assumption BVM Church with Fr. Joe Griffin officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 5-7:00 pm with a vigil service at 6:30 pm and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will take place following at Midland City Cemetery.
