Edwin John “Johnny” Tucker, 81, of Midland, died at Stratford Village on Jan. 30, 2012. Johnny was born on Nov. 28, 1930, in Midland County, to the late Leo and Mary (Chapman) Tucker. Johnny attended Midland Public Schools. On Aug. 18, 1951 he married his sweetheart Lucille Laney. Johnny retired from Sunoco Products Co. on Nov. 25, 1992. Johnny enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, hunting and working in his garden. After retirement he spent his winters in Texas and South Carolina. Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Lucille; daughter, Margaret (Rick) Lind of Aiken, S. Carolina; son, Edwin Jr. (Carla) of Hope; grandchildren, Shayne (Meg) Case, John Case, Andrea Jones, Nicholas (Jessica) Tucker, Chad (Stephanie) Tucker, Ken Tucker; great grandchildren, Jonathon Case, Aidan Case, Ricardo Jones, Jayden Tucker; brothers, Leonard Myers, Wilbur (Martha) Tucker, Robert (Bonnie) Tucker and sister Deanna (Joseph) Lincoln. Johnny was predeceased by his sister Patricia Wolfe. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly with Pastor Jody Ellis of the Open Door Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 3, from 4 til 7 pm and on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Midland Memorial Gardens.
