Eleanor Marie Kania, 94, of Midland, died at TenderCare-Midland, on Sept. 28, 2012. Eleanor was born on Feb. 18, 1918 in Saginaw to the late Harry and Pauline (Peaphon) Crannell. On Sept. 14, 1941 Eleanor married her Sweetheart Frank Kania. Eleanor loved the lake, quilting and cooking for everyone. She also loved and enjoyed her grandchildren. Eleanor is survived by her loving husband Frank; daughter Linda (Dick) LaCross of Midland; grandchildren, Debbie (Robin) Wright of Midland, Dan Kania of Fowlerville, Kathy (John Andress) McCallum of Fowlerville, Matt Kania of Swartz Creek; great grandchildren, Nikki Wright, Corey McCallum, Megan McCallum; great great grandchild, Ethan McCallum. Eleanor was predeceased by her two sons John and Ron; her brother Harry Crannell Jr. and sister Dorothy Beardsley. A Funeral Service will be held at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly, on Monday, Oct. 1, at 11:00 am with Chaplain Doug Bassett officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 until the time of the service.
