Erma Ruth Wyse, 96, of Midland, died peacefully on Aug. 29, 2012 at MidMichigan Stratford Village. Erma was born in Pigeon, MI on April 24, 1916 to the late John and Elizabeth (Gunden) Steckley. On Sept. 20, 1936 Erma married her sweetheart Willard Wyse, in Pigeon. Willard predeceased Erma in 2007. Erma was a homemaker and proud of it. After Willard’s retirement, Erma and Willard enjoyed traveling and spending the winters in Texas. Erma is a member of Our Redeemer Church. Erma is survived by her sons, Gilbert D. (Ardy) Wyse of British Columbia, Canada, Leland (Nancy) Wyse of Midland; grandchildren, Kevin Wyse, Jay Wyse, Heidi Wyse Ryan, Brad Wyse, Patrick Wyse and 14 great grandchildren. Erma we predeceased by her grandson Jeffrey Wyse and her brother John Steckley. A Funeral Service will be held at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 11:00 am with Reverend Mark Burks officiating. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, Sept. 4 from 4 until 7 pm and on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
