Eugene B. LaRue, 85, of Midland, died on January 16, 2012 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland. Eugene was born in Bay County on May 24, 1926 to the late John and Mary (Brisson) LaRue. On Nov. 24, 1956, he married his sweetheart Patricia Balwinski in Bay City. Eugene was honorably discharged from the US Navy after serving his country during WWII. He also spent 6 years in the National Guard. He was a realtor for most of his career. Eugene loved hockey, including playing, refing and watching his grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening and loved the spring time when blossoms came out. Eugene lovingly donated his body to medical science at University of Michigan. Eugene is survived by his loving wife Patricia; daughters, Caren LaRue of Hendersonville, TN, Lea Ann (Adam) Salyer of St. Louis, MO; sons, Jan (Pam) LaRue of Franklin, KY, Randy (Mary Jo) LaRue of Midland; grandchildren, Mitchell and Christi Witherow, Bryan, Karissa, Casey and Jesse LaRue and sister Mary Louise Lee of Bay City the last of 12 children. Eugene was predeceased by 6 brothers and 4 sisters. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012 at Assumption BVM Catholic Church with Father Kevin Maksym officiating. The family will receive friends at the church, from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
