Evelyn Elaine Strobel, 92 of Midland passed away peacefully at Mid-Michigan Medical Center – Midland on November 6th, 2020 with family bedside. Evelyn was born to the late Charles and Maude (Cross) Owen on April 26th, 1928. Evelyn married the love of her life John Strobel on April 22nd, 1950, and they shared sixty loving years together.

Evelyn was a charter member of the Midland Nease Nazarene Church, where she taught Sunday School for over fifty years. She also thoroughly enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking.

Evelyn is survived by her children; Dwight (Linda) Strobel, Gloria (Melvin) Anibal and Lyle  Strobel, grandchildren; Jody Strobel, Holly (Duane) White, Amber (Rob) Huber, Ashley Anibal, Michael (Brittany) Anibal, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, sister; Lila Lawrence.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband John Strobel, daughter; Sharon Strobel, brothers; Glen Owen, Donald Owen, LaVerne Owen, and sister; Lucille Rulison.

A funeral service will be held at Midland Nease Nazarene on Wednesday November 11th, 2020 at 11am with Pastor Beth Hanson officiating. Visitation will be from 10am until time of service at the church. A graveside service will take place at Homer Township Cemetery immediately following the service at the church.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Midland Nease Nazarene in her honour.

    I’m so sorry to hear this she was like my 2nd mom growing up. I spent so much time with the family. Spent many nights with Gloria. She Will be missed but she is in heaven with her loved ones there. And drinking coffee again with my mom Elaine Babcock

    Words can not Express my feelings right now. I’m so sorry to hear about Evelyn. She was a wonderful person. I remember all the good times we had when she & Jack were married.
