Everett “Bud” Richardson, 98, of Midland, passed away on February 26, 2017 at his home. He was born on January 12, 1919 in Chenoa, IL to the late James and Katherine (Henning) Richardson. On November 9, 1945, he married Lillian Oswald who predeceased him October 16, 2012. Bud proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII in the 12th AAA Battalion, Charlie Company. Bud worked as a lab tech researcher until he retired in 1978. He was a long-standing member of the First United Methodist Church. Bud was an avid reader, who enjoyed traveling and vacationing, gardening and taking care of his yard. He loved his family foremost and will be greatly missed by all. Bud is survived by his sons: John (JoLynn) of Parrotsville, TN, James of Chattanooga, TN, daughters: Kathleen Richardson of Haslett, Janice (Robert) Guzall of Haslett, Marylee Scherdt of Ann Arbor, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at First United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 4th, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Charles Keyworth officiating. Visitation will be at Smith-Miner Funeral home on Friday, March 3rd from 5-7 pm and at the church on Saturday from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Old Edenville Cemetery. Military honors will be under the auspices of the United States Marines Corps and the Midland County Veterans.
