George L. Jenkins, 93, of Midland passed away August 29, 2021 at Auburn Fields Assisted Living.  He was born on June 16, 1928 to the late George G. and Alta (Arthur) Jenkins.  He married Betty Phillips on December 15, 1950 and they shared 70 blessed years together.

George served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He worked for Dow Chemical retiring in 1982. George enjoyed gardening, farming, square dancing but most of all spending time with family and friends.

George is survived by his wife, Betty, children Judy (Douglas) Dice, Kenneth (Susan) Jenkins, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and his brother Kenneth R. Jenkins.  He was predeceased by his siblings Dorothy Tomlinson, Helen Arnold and Bud Jenkins.

A memorial for service for George will be held on Wednesday, September 15, at 11:00am from the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Gerald Ferguson officiating.  A visitation will be held from 10:00am until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers please consider The Care Team Hospice, Alzheimer’s Association or planting a tree in his honor.

    To the family of George Jenkins, I’m so sorry to hear of his passing… I remember George worked with my dad (Don) at Dow Chemical and there was a few times I rode into work with the two of them. George may you rest in peace..and my sympathy goes out to your family..
