Gerald “Jerry” C. Klutey, 78, of Midland died on April 8, 2011 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland. Jerry was born in Washington D.C. on December 28, 1932 to the late Mary Ethel (Brand) and Marion F. Klutey. Jerry attended the University of Alabama where he played football and graduated with a degree in Economics and Political Science. After college Jerry served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. He moved from Washington, DC to Midland, MI in 1967 where he began his long banking career. Starting with the First National Bank, which later became Comerica, where he was Vice President and Branch Manager. Jerry loved Florida, being outside and being by the water. Jerry is survived by his daughters Stephanie (Steven) Cramton of Midland, Lori (David) Gaarde of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Josh MacDonald, Cristina Cramton, Sara Gaarde-Murrell and Carly Gaarde. Burial will take place at Midland City Cemetery, Section D, on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 10:00 am. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 11, 2011, at the Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Gib Giblin officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 am until the time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the American Cancer Society.
