Harvey V. Reeves, 88, of Midland, passed away on January 27, 2021 at Stratford Pines Nursing and Care Center. He was born on February 13, 1932 in Athens County, OH to the late Harvey Lee and Nina (Braley) Reeves. He married Janet E. Leidigh in Bryan, OH on June 16, 1954 and they were blessed with 66 wonderful years together.

 

Harvey served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant in the Tank Division during the Korean War. He worked as a Millwright at Martin-Marietta, Orlando, FL, as manufacturing Supervisor, Mohawk Canoe, in Sanford, Fl and as a Millwright at General Motors from where he retired in 1996. Harvey was a great friend and was admired by many co-workers and friends. Harvey loved to hunt, camp and spend time outdoors. He could be found tinkering in his pole barn working on various projects. Harvey also loved his dog JoJo and lap cat Oliver.

 

Harvey is survived by his wife Janet, children, Debra Reeves, Linda Reeves, David (Shannon) Reeves and grandson Bryan Reeves. He is also survived by his sister Sharon (Gene) Yant and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Betty, Mary, Irene, and Robert.

 

The family would like to send a special thank you to the Stratford Pines family who took such good care of Harvey.

 

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Heartland Hospice.

    I am saddened to learn of Harvey’s passing. I have fond memories of him while growing up in Pinecastle, FL. Harvey was a good person, and was always kind to me. I will miss him. My condolences to his family and friends.
