Hazel Ann Keidel, 80, of Midland, died at home surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, June 20, 2013. Hazel was born in Billings Township, on Nov. 23, 1932 to the late Ernest and Isal (Ford) Mattis. On Dec. 6, 1947 Hazel married her sweetheart Herman F. Keidel (who has predeceased her) in Midland. Hazel loved playing Bingo and bowling. She also loved fishing and golfing. But Hazel especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hazel is survived by her children Dora (Jim) Pnacek, Herman “Bud” (Kathy) Keidel, Kenneth (Michaela) Keidel; grandchildren, James Pnacek, Dean Pnacek, Amy Smith, Buddy Keidel, Kathy Terry, April Terry, Richard (Breanne) Keidel, Brandon (Samantha Chambers) Keidel; great grandchildren, Colton, Casey, Bradley, Becca, Braidyn, Dayton, Collin, Savana, Dillen, Kristen, Wyatt and Rhylin. Hazel was preceded in death by her sisters, Donna Lorenz and Helen Foster; and her brothers James and Donald. The family would like to give a special thanks to staff at Heartland Hospice, Morgan, Dawn, Deanna, Wayne, Marilyn, Jennifer, Shelly, Zach and Marti, who went above and beyond the call of duty to help Hazel and her family. A Funeral Service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 with Reverend Daniel Kempin officiating. The family will receive friends at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly on Monday, June 24, 2013 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Tuesday, June 25 at the church from 10 am until the time of the service.
