Hazel L. Potts, 75, of Midland, died on Nov. 26, 2012 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland. Hazel was born in Sanford on Oct. 29, 1937 to the late Charles and Myrtle (Ostrander) Laplow. On Aug. 5, 1972 she married her sweetheart William Potts Sr. Hazel was a member of the First Baptist Church of Auburn. She loved taking care of others especially children and traveling around the country. Hazel is survived by her loving husband Bill; sons, William (Suzanne) of Midland, David (Brandi) of Midland; grandchildren Nicole Tough, Charlie Potts and Jack Potts; 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Hazel was predeceased by 2 brothers. A Funeral Service will be held on November 29, 2012 at Auburn First Baptist Church at 11:00 am with Pastor Ed Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Freeland. The family will receive friends at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly, on Wednesday, Nov. 28 from 4 until 7 pm and at the Church on Thursday from 10 am until the time of the service.
