Helen M. Brubaker, 76, of Midland, passed away peacefully at Mid-Michigan Medical Center January 20, 2019. She was born on October 21, 1942 to John Henry McCann and Helen McCann (Yack). She married Jim Brubaker on August 18, 1962 and was a loving wife of 56 years. Helen worked at Dow Chemical in Accounts Receivable until her retirement in 1993.

She was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church where she diligently strived to be a shepherd of the faith. Helen loved socializing, dancing and attending festivals. She loved dune bugging and riding on her dirt bike. She also enjoyed traveling, and especially traveling to Europe. Helen was also a member of the Moose and Eagle Lodges.

Helen is survived by her spouse Jim Brubaker, and son Mike Brubaker. She is also survived by her sisters Margaret Daniels, and Kathy Hair, and brother; John (Jan) McCann.

In addition to her parents, Helen is predeceased by her sister, Bonnie Niener; by her brother in-laws, Art Daniels, Rodney Hair, and Mark Niener.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at St. Brigid Catholic Church with Father Andy Booms officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the church from 9:00am until the time of service. Burial will take place at Homer Township Cemetery.

Family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Mid-Michigan Intensive Care Unit and DaVita Dialysis for the outstanding care they gave Helen. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Brigid Catholic Church.

    Jim and Mike, I am so sorry to hear of Helen’s passing. She was a beautiful woman full of faith and a true free spirit. I truly enjoyed times we spent together at #414 or listening to a good band. She will be truly missed. Sending Love & Prayers. Carla Bowker
