Helen N. MarhalikHelen N. Marhalik, 84, of Midland, MI, an incredibly wonderful and strong woman, passed away while surrounded by her closest friends, and went to be with her Heavenly Father on August 19, 2016.Helen loved visiting Michigan?ÇÖs Great Lakes lighthouses, shorelines and collecting lakeshore rocks and stones.She enjoyed a long teaching career in elementary education of 50 + years. She was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed cheering on her two favorite baseball teams, the Baltimore Orioles and the Detroit Tigers. Most of all she enjoyed sharing a home cooked meal with family and friends. Helen was a devote member of Blessed Sacrament Church with a deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. She will be greatly missed by her sister Dorothy (Dom) Pape, Wilkes-Barre, PA: The Soehnel Family, the Soehnel children and their spouses and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Mary Marhalik, sisters, Loretta Steven, Irene Oberle, and brothers Robert Marhalik and Edward Marhalik.The Soehnel Family would like to thank the staff?ÇÖs of Seasons Adult Daycare, Bayside Home Healthcare, and the Midland King?ÇÖs Daughters Home, for the exceptional care they provided to Helen.A celebration of Helen?ÇÖs life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27th at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 3109 Swede Ave., Midland, MI 48642, with Fr. Kevin Maksym presiding.
