Helen R. Dockham Helen R. Dockham, 89, of Midland, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Midland King?ÇÖs Daughters Home. She was born in Midland on March 23, 1927, the daughter of the late James and Ethel (Venner) Dockham. Helen worked for Dow Chemical from 1945 until 1985. She began in hourly payroll and then from 1981 until retirement she served as the manager of Office Personnel. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, was part of their bible study group and did volunteer work for them for over 20 years. Helen loved traveling, playing bridge, was an avid bowler and golfer and loved professional basketball. She found the positive in everything. Helen is survived by her nieces, Nancy Koenig, Judy (Bruce) Cohoon, Janet (Rod) Draves, and Laura Dockham, nephew Don Dockham, great nieces and nephews, Luke (Janice) Cohoon, Brent Cohoon, Mike Cohoon, Hillary Ish and Matt Brown and two great great niece and nephew, Emerson and Pierson.Helen was predeceased by her sister Gertrude Dockham and brothers, Charles, Clement and Cletus Dockham. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Parish with Fr. Nick Coffaro officiating. Friends may visit with the family at Smith-Miner Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 18th from 4-7 pm and on Thursday, at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
