Ilene Lindenberg Reinhardt went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 30th in Climax, MI at the home of Don and Jean Schultz who lovingly cared for her during the last few weeks. She was born in Bay County, Michigan on October 7, 1923, the daughter of the late Max and Olga (Krentz) Lindenberg and after her mother’s death, Ilene was raised by her aunt and uncle, Augusta and Herman Majeske. She was employed by the Dow Chemical Company until she married Robert Reinhardt on November 29, 1958. Ilene volunteered at the MidMichigan Regional Medical Center as a Yellow Lady for over forty years, belonged to the “The Little Garden Club” of Midland, and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Auburn. Ilene will be remembered by family and many friends as a person whose faith was evident in her gentle strength, enthusiastic love of life, and compassionate demeanor that affirmed and encouraged others. Ilene is survived by her sister-in-law Madeline Lindenberg; nephews and nieces, Randy and Perry Lindenberg, Sheryl (Rodger) Lapham, Nancy (Donald) Periard, Larry (Karen) Lindenberg, Donald (Jeanne) Lindenberg, as well as cousins, Lillian Schultz, Ruth Braun, Roy Majeske, Luanna McCarty, Don (Jean) Schultz and Carol (Ted) Oakley. Ilene was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Reinhardt in September, 2008, her sister Leona (Harold) Western, and brothers Clarence (Lucile) Lindenberg, Alford Lindenberg, and cousin Edwin Majeske. The family would like to thank Mrs. Del Skinner for her capable assistance, allowing Ilene to stay in her own home as long as possible. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 4 in Auburn at the First Baptist Church, 4853 Garfield Road, with Pastor Ed Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow in the Midland City Cemetery. Ilene’s family will receive friends at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly, on Tuesday, May 3, from 5 to 7 pm and at the church on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of service.
