James A. Wenzel of Midland, Michigan, died Monday, January 5, 2015, at MidMichigan Medical Center. James was born September 9, 1937 to the late Albert and Nora (Meyer) Wenzel. On November 9, 1964 James married his wife, Phyllis (Walter) Wenzel.Jim owned and operated Wenzel?ÇÖs Hardware for 31 years. Jim was president of his 1956 class at Midland High School and active in the class reunions. He was a disabled veteran.Jim was a member of the Christian Celebration Center, Eastlawn Business Association, Downtown Business Association, First Treasury Messiah Lutheran Church, Toast Master Club and a past member of Noon Rotary Club. Jim was also on the Salvation Army Board and was a past president of this organization. Jim enjoyed running their eBay business, watching MSU sports and skiing with the family. Family was his purpose!Jim is survived by his wife Phyllis, son Kris (Ericka) Wenzel, and grandchildren Aiden and Riley. Jim was preceded in death by his sister Joan Wenzel-Squire.A Memorial Service will be held at the Christian Celebration Center on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 4:00 pm with Reverend Joel Stocker officiating.
