James L. Henry, 98, of Midland, died on June 8, 2012 at the Toni and Trish House in Auburn. James was born in Hope on Sept. 2, 1913 to the late Samuel and Effie (McClellan) Henry and raised by his Henry grandparents. James had the privileged to be married to two wonderful women Gladys (Altman) from 1940 -1979 and Muriel (Crawford, Houghtaling) from 1980 to the present. James served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corp. as a pilot. After being honorably discharged from the Army, James worked for Dow Corning until he retired on Dec. 31 1969. James loved hunting, fishing and trapping. He was an avid golfer and liked to travel and wintering in Florida. James is survived by his loving wife Muriel; daughter, Sheryl (Bev Salisbury) Foster of Midland; step-children Marilyn Rogers, Tom (Judi) Houghtaling, Gary (Sandy) Houghtaling, Peggy Hienz; 11 step grandchildren and 15 step great grandchildren. James is predeceased by his sisters, Mary Ramm, Margaret Clark, Bernita Henry: brother, Archie and his twin brother Edward. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Free Methodist Church.The family will receive friends at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W.
