Janet E. Reeves, 87 of Midland passed away September 11, 2021, at MidMichigan Medical Center, Midland. She was born November 20, 1933, in Bryan, OH to Denver and Mary (Zwayer) Leidigh.
The former Janet Leidigh married Harvey Reeves on June 16, 1954, in Bryan, OH and they spent 66 wonderful years together living in Bryan, OH, Orlando, FL and later moving to Midland. Harvey pre-deceased Janet on January 27, 2021.
Harvey and Janet were blessed with and are survived by 3 children Debra, Linda, and David (Shannon) Reeves all of Midland as well as one grandson Bryan Reeves of Saginaw.
As a young woman Janet worked at the Ohio Art Company in Bryan, OH and later she and Harvey owned and operated a convenience store in Orlando, FL.
Janet was a very creative and talented lady and could create beautiful projects from wood carving to pottery to painting. In the 1980’s she started a business designing and creating collectible teddy bears called Janet Reeves Hug-A-Bear. Janet and her daughters traveled the world to teddy bear shows selling her creations.
One of Janet’s favorite passions was travelling, especially “out west” vacations with their children as well as trips to Gettysburg and northern Michigan.
Janet was predeceased by her husband Harvey, parents Denver and Mary, and brothers Darrell, Richard, and Tomas Leidigh.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Midland County Humane Society.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to honor both Janet and Harvey will be scheduled at a later date.
