JOHN BYRON John Byron 86, of Midland, passed away on, Friday, April 18, 2014 with his loving wife at his side. He was born on December 12,1927 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Clarence and Arminda (Ault) Byron. He married Marie (Searfoss) in August of 1950. John was in the Navy during WWII. John was a teacher for 40 years and was big proponent of public education. He taught at Flint Beecher for 17 years, New Lathrop for 2 years, and then Midland Public Schools at Jefferson, Northeast and Dow High Schools. John was a active member for life in the Michigan Association Of Retired School Personnel. John loved to travel and was well known for his great sense of humor. John is survived by his wife Marie, daughters; Linda (Charles) Romine of Granger, IN, Karen Byron of DeWitt, MI, Lori (Lee) Engwis of Midland, MI, Jane Byron and partner Cal Trent of Denver, CO and Amy (Todd) Shepard of Sugar Land, TX, and sons; Bruce (Denise) Byron, Lake Jackson, TX, John Byron of Phoenix, AZ, Scott (Linda) Byron of Alma, MI and Keith (Rachel) Byron of Edinburgh, Scotland. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 14 great grand children and one brother Robert Byron Traverse City, MI.John was predeceased by his siblings, Tom Byron, Jordan Byron, Hazel Byron, Marge Kruske, Ruth Pink, and Jean Kruger. A Memorial Service will be held at Smith-Miner Funeral Home on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Pastors Tommy Morelock and Justin Romine officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10 AM until the time of service.
