JOHN M. STROBEL John M. Strobel, 82, of Midland died Friday, September 17, 2010 at the MidMichigan Medical Center. He was born on January 19, 1928 to the late John N. and Minnie (Poppeck) Strobel in Saginaw. He married his sweat hart Evelyn Owen on April 22, 1950 here in Midland. John was a member of the Nease Memorial Church of the Nazarene. He owned and operated Strobel’s Nursery and later worked for Johnson Shell. He also worked for The Provincial House as a maintenance man from Sept. 1976 until his retirement in Jan. 1990. John loved the outdoors and his garden. He was an avid wood craftsmen, making many things for friends and family members. He is survived by his wife Evelyn, sons and daughter in law Dwight and Linda Strobel, Lyle Strobel. daughter and son in law Gloria and Melvin Anibal all of Midland. Grand Children Jody (Scott) Staudacher of Weidman, Holly(Duane) White, Amber(Rob) Huber, Ashley Anibal and Michael Anibal, and 6 Great grand children all of Midland He was preceded in death by his daughter Sharon Strobel and sister Dorothy Strobel A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, Sept. 20, at 11:00 am at the Nease Memorial Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Mike Sapp officiating . The family will receive friends at the Smith-Miner Funeral Home 2700 W. Wackerly on Sunday, Sept 19, from 5 to 7 pm and on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the church. Interment will follow at Homer Township Cemetery.
