Joseph Gerard “Jerry” Solosky, 80, of Midland, died on Sept. 29, 2010, at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland. Jerry was born on Dec. 31, 1929 in Midland, to the late Rose (Lepeak) and Frank Solosky. Jerry honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Dow Chemical Traffic Dept. and Continental Can Co. He loved golf, baseball and ping pong. Jerry is survived by his sisters, Wilhelmina Dockham of Midland, Mary (Clarence) Lince of Midland; and special friend Jenny Wesley. He was predeceased by his sister Theresa Ward and brother Larry Solosky. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday, Oct. 4, at 10:00 am at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church with Father Kevin Maksym and Deacon Aloysius Oliver officiating . The family will receive friends at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly, on Sunday Oct. 3 from 4 to 6 pm and on Monday at the church from 9:00 until the time of the service. A Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home at 6:00 pm on Sunday. Entombment will take place at New Calvary Mausoleum. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Brigid’s.
