Joseph Nang Van Nguyen went to the Lord on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland. He was born in Vietnam in 1942 to the late An Van Nguyen and Ri Thi Hoang, immigrated to the United States in 1975 and settled in Greensburg, Indiana. He moved to Midland after his retirement in 1997 to be near his children. He is survived by his wife, Gioc Thi Phan, and his children; Kimmai (Paul), Thanh, Tam (James), Minh, Hien (Charles), Tan (Cheryl), Yen, Binh and Trang. Also surviving are his sisters; Bac, Ken, Thiec and brother An. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Paul, Kimberly, Christopher, Vincent, Rose, Michael and Jude. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday, August, 8 at 10:00 am at Assumption BVM Catholic Church with, Father Kevin Maksym officiating. Interment will follow at New Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly on Sunday, Aug. 7 from 4 to 6:30 pm, with a Vigil Service at 6:30 pm and on Monday at the church from 9:30 am until the time of the service.
