Keith George Hitchcock, 89, of Midland, died on May 6, 2010, as a result of an automobile accident. Keith was born in Cleveland, OH on July 28, 1920 to the late George and Ada (Chambers) Hitchcock. He later married his sweetheart, B. Jane Reid in Midland on May 1, 1948. Keith was a member of the Larkin Township Fire Dept., the Amateur Radio Operators with call letters of WA8JGQ, American Legion and the VFW. He was a friend of the 4-H and a friend of the Midland Fairgrounds. He was also a member of the Old Farts and Mindless Clubs. He was the best fixer upper you’ve ever seen. He was an electrician by trade and also an engineer and inventor. He loved gadgets and eBay. Keith is survived by his wife Jane; daughters, Joyce (Franklin) McPherson, Karen Hitchcock; son, James (Kathryn) Hitchcock; grandchildren, Michael Hitchcock, Lea Hitchcock, Jason Richert, Jennessa (Rob) West; great grandchild Ronin West and his brother Norman. He was preceded in death by his brother Gordon. A Memorial Service will be held at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly on Saturday, May 8, at 2:00 pm with Reverend Pam Buchholz officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 pm until the time of the service. Full Military rights under the auspices of the U.S. Marines and the Midland County Veterans.
