Kenneth Jay Horning Jr., 71, of Midland, died on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at MidMichigan Medical Center of heart complications. Ken was born on April 10, 1938 in Midland and after graduating from Midland High he served in the Navel Reserve for 10 years. He played a variety of sports and was an avid fisherman and hunter all his life. He loved his fly fishing especially on the Ausable River during the Hex hatch. Ken owned Tri-County Tile and Marble, Inc., working in the tile business for 45 yrs. He was rich in friends from his business associations. Ken is survived by his best friend Marjorie McFarlane; daughter Kendra (Jim) Jackson of Saginaw; son, David (Mika) Horning of Idaho; Mark McFarlane of Houston, Brian (Rebecca) McFarlane of Nebraska; sister Martha (Phillip) Davidson of Midland; grandchildren, Sarina, Jay, Alexis, Hunter and beloved nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for being a people person with friends everywhere. Per his request cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
