Kimberley Jo Turner 54, lost her courageous battle with covid May 9th, 2021. Kim was born April 06, 1967 in Midland Michigan to Sue Jonette (McLaren) and Charles David (Dave) Turner.
Kim grew up in Midland with her parents and younger brother until 1980 when they all moved to Sand Springs Oklahoma, Kim graduated from Charles Page High School in 1985. She then went on to Ozark Christian College for 2 years before transferring to the University of Oklahoma where she dreamed of working in the embassy with studies in European history with an emphasis on Russian studies. But as life takes its twist and turns on us as it does, Kim ended up moving back to Midland in 1990 with her family where she was employed at multiple different retailers including; Farmer Jack, Elder Beerman’s /Younkers and most recently Dollar General.
Kim had many hobbies like cross-stitch, coloring, online game role playing with friends, she loved cats, dolphins and crazy shopping trips with her Grandma McLaren and Aunt Janet. But above all else Kim loved children, she even volunteered at Little Lighthouse Children’s Hospital in Tulsa Oklahoma.
On February 6th, 2002 Kim’s heart was completed with the entrance of a special man in her life. Kim gave birth to her best friend and adventure companion Jared Malcolm Turner. Kim and Jared were 2 peas in a pod and loved and enjoyed many of the same things. They took as many as adventures and trips as they could together whether to zoos, Renaissance festivals, Washington D.C., Philadelphia or even the backyard, Kim and Jared’s most favorite place to go was Walt Disney World they even had a trip booked for later this year.
Kim was loved and adored by many for her smart wit and generous heart, Kim was a loving and dedicated mom, daughter, sister and aunt. Her family will miss backyard cookouts, camping trips, and holiday gatherings without her, notably her nieces and nephews whom she loved to have join her and Jared on their adventures.
Kim is survived by her son,’ Jared, mother; Sue, father; Dave, brother and sister-in-law David (Pete) & Dawn (Rickett) Turner, (all of Midland) Nieces and nephews; Emily Turner (Mineola, TX), Logan, Cameron & Elizabelle Turner (Midland), numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Kim was preceded in death by her grandparents; Malcolm and Nellie McLaren, Ruby Jones (Butler) and Charles (Sonny) Willowbee, Aunts; Janet Hollingshead (McLaren), Linda Willowbee, and her Uncle Rod McLaren.
Memorial services are planned to take place Saturday, May 29, 2021, 11: 00 am, at Midland Salvation Army, 330 Waldo Ave, Midland, MI 48642.
