Welcome to Smith Miner

Laurence D. Yoder, 89, of Midland passed away on May 5, 2021 at Brittany Manor. He was born on March 22, 1932 to the late Henry and Velma (Miller) Yoder. He married Doris Jane Schrock of December 12, 1959 and they shared 61 years together.

Laurence maintained New Hope Community Church and enjoyed attending church services there. In his younger days Laurence played fast pitch soft ball and involved in bowling leagues.

Laurence is survived by his wife, Doris, son, Lee (Robin) Yoder, grandchildren, Haley Northup, Cara Yoder and Ian Yoder. He is also survived by his siblings, Joe Yoder, Jaunita Roth and Marjorie Katzenmaier. He was predeceased by his daughter Marcia Northup and siblings, Edward Yoder, Vera Wiebe, Richard Yoder, Karl Yoder and Kathryn Crawford.

Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date.

    Larry was a good friend. He was truly a servant for the Lord. He was a great caretaker of the Midland Mennonite Church./New Hope Community Church.
