Lyvere, Leona Jane (Long) passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior November 26, 2016 at Pinecrest Farms where she resided. She was born on June 20, 1930 in Midland to James and Alice Long. Jane was known as a very kind and giving lady with a great sense of humor. She was employed by Midland Hospital for 33 years retiring in 1993. She spent several bowling seasons with fellow staff members. Jane was an avid crocheter, always providing colorful afghans for her children and grandchildren. During her time at Pinecrest she donated them to residents. She also enjoyed reading. Jane loved her family deeply and will be missed by her daughters Betty Filcek (Ron Jankovick) and Shirley (Clint) Roberts, her sons Lawrence (Naomi) Lyvere Jr and Kirk (Lynn) Lyvere as well as her 14 grandchildren a several great grandchildren. Jane was preceded in death by her son Pfc Ronald L. Lyvere, brother Walter Long, sisters Elaine Skym, Evelyn Skym, and Lethia (Mick) Carr. The family would like to thank Hometown Hospice for their care. And especially the nursing staff at Pinecrest who were more than caregivers, but true friends. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Smith- Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly, Midland, with Pastor Knettle officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday at 10 am until the time of service.
