Lillian Lorraine Bothe Klopf, 90, of Bay City, died peacefully in her sleep, on April 19, 2011 at Clover Cottage in Midland. Lillian was born in Bay City on Nov. 11, 1920 to the late Inez (Hartley) and Ernest Bothe. She graduated from Saginaw General Hospital School of Nursing in l942 and shortly after married her sweetheart, Howard Klopf, in Monterey, CA. He predeceased her in 2002. Lillian was a member of the Auburn United Methodist Church, Saginaw General Hospital Alumni Association, and the Ladies VFW Auxillary. She loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, swimming, bowling and playing cards. Lillian is survived by her daughter, Rosalee Tithof of Chesaning; sons, Norris and Donna Klopf of Colorado, Marlowe “Brion” and Rhonda Klopf of Midland; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; three sisters, Elaine Witbrodt, June Jezowski, and Lucille Hardy; and one sister-in-law, Mildred Lather. Lillian was also predeceased by her sisters, Thelma Rueger, Betty Fischhaber, her brother Verne Bothe and her son-in-law, Larry Tithof. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 7 at Auburn United Methodist Church, 207 S. Auburn Rd. The family will receive visitors from 2 pm until the time of the service. A dinner will follow at the church fellowship hall. Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly is assisting the family.
