Lindley (Lin) Carl Haefka, 64, of Lubbock, TX passed away in June of 2018 of natural causes at his home in Lubbock. Lin was born on August 4, 1953. He was the son of Lloyd and Ruth (Root) Haefka of Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was born in Midland, MI and was attending Jefferson Intermediate when Lin and his parents moved to Deming and excelled in Music. He was a Drum Major. He was also proficient in playing the clarinet and won many awards in competition.

After graduating from New Mexico State University, home of the Aggies, with a Masters, he taught music at Jal, New Mexico High School. He was often honored to be a guest conductor at other schools for occasions.

Lin never married. Music was his life and passion. He was a gentle man with a kind heart and a great sense of humor.

Lin leaves behind to mourn his death two sisters, Tania Brown of Lupton, MI and Thyra (Lewis) Raffino of Houston, TX, one brother, Jon (Judy) of Troy, MI, and one sister-in-law, Marilyn Jones of Goshen, IN plus many, many cousins in and around Midland, MI and Lin would want a special mention be made of Vivian Palmer of Midland. She is a special cousin whom he adored.

Lin was predeceased by his mother, Ruth, and father, Lloyd Haefka, both formerly of Midland, MI, brother, Beryl Jones, Jr of Goshen, IN, formerly of Midland.

May he forever rest in peace. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
