Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on August 29, 2017. Age 80 years. The daughter of the late Charles and Marie (Briggs) Siler, Lois was born February 6, 1937 in Merrill, MI. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School. She married Harold J. Foy on May 21, 1961. He predeceased her May 23, 1968. After losing her husband, Lois become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She spent over 25 years working at MidMichigan Regional Medical Center. She was a charter member of Blessed Sacrament Parish. She loved spending time with family, traveling, knitting and sharing her passion of Hummels.

Left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Ann Marie (David) Szymanowski, Saginaw, Theresa Foy, Midland, Bernadette (Matthew) Craig, Midland, Mary Beth Foy, Midland; one grandson, LCpl David Jacob Szymanowski, USMC; one sister Jackie Foy; Sister in Laws Shirley Cates, Louise Wardin; Brother in laws Thomas (Wanda) Foy, Duane (Judy) Foye, Gerald Kennelly, many nieces and nephews and many very good friends. Lois was preceded by an infant grandson, Daniel Szymanowski; four sisters, Joan Zurbrigg, Patricia Ekberg, Elizabeth Kennelly, Pauline Siler and one brother, Joseph Siler.

The family wishes to thank their Heartland Hospice Care team for the wonderful care Lois received.

Funeral service will take place on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 10:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 3109 Swede Ave in Midland. The Very Reverend Thomas E. Sutton and Rev. Kevin Maksym will preside with burial in New Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 West Wackerly, Midland, MI where the family will be present on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm and at the church on Thursday from 9 am until the time of service. A vigil service will take place at 6:30 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
